{"id":4057,"date":"2023-06-19T14:18:22","date_gmt":"2023-06-19T12:18:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apa.de\/2023\/06\/19\/special-world-games-kick-off\/"},"modified":"2023-09-19T14:34:36","modified_gmt":"2023-09-19T12:34:36","slug":"special-world-games-kick-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apa.de\/en\/2023\/06\/19\/special-world-games-kick-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Special World Games kick-off"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>What a weekend &#8211; a plethora of goosebump moments were experienced by our CEO, Peter Adelfang, over the weekend:<\/p>\n\n<p>The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 have started furiously with 50,000 enthusiastic visitors in the #Olympiastadion-Berlin.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Friday<\/strong><br\/>#BerlinerAbend at the invitation of the Governing Mayor #KaiWegner to the #DeutschesTechnikMuseum.<\/p>\n\n<p>Royal highnesses, ambassadors, top sponsors, partners as well as representatives of the state sports associations, the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and #athletes.<\/p>\n\n<p>The evening was quite relaxed and easy-going except for the rain that started at some point &#8211; an evening of beautiful encounters.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Saturday 18:00 o\u00b4clock<\/strong><br\/>Reception of the #FederalGovernment \ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea on the occasion of the upcoming #opening of the first #SpecialOlympicsWorldGames in #Germany<br\/>Here we also had a wonderful reunion with the managing director of the #InternationaleDeutscheTurnfest 2025 in Leipzig Kati Brenner, who is co-responsible for the supervision of the fabulous amount of 22,000 #volunteers at this mega event.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Saturday 20:15 o\u00b4clock<\/strong><br\/>Ceremonial opening in the presence of the #Federal Chancellor and the #Federal President and an impressive show program.<br\/>Around 190 delegations presented themselves at the big #induction parade.<\/p>\n\n<p>The oath of the #athletes, #coaches and #judges took place after another show performance.<\/p>\n\n<p>Before lighting the Special Olympics flame, German President #FrankWalterSteinmeier declared the #WorldGames 2023 open.<\/p>\n\n<p>For the grand finale #Madcon presented the official song #AreYouReady.<\/p>\n\n<p>A performance by the Blue Man Group and an impressive #fireworks display rounded off the program brilliantly.<\/p>\n\n<p>A truly worthy start and it shows #Germany can host major sporting events<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>400 hours of TV<\/strong><br\/>Thanks to a unique media alliance, 400 hours of live TV will be shown of the games.
