{"id":4593,"date":"2023-11-08T15:21:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T14:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apa.de\/2023\/11\/08\/20-years-from-trainee-to-authorised-signatory\/"},"modified":"2023-11-08T15:21:01","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T14:21:01","slug":"20-years-from-trainee-to-authorised-signatory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apa.de\/en\/2023\/11\/08\/20-years-from-trainee-to-authorised-signatory\/","title":{"rendered":"20 years &#8211; from trainee to authorised signatory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I took on Sebastian Kunitz as an apprentice at APA Brands Events Solutions 20 years ago TODAY, at the age of 19, I could have guessed what I was getting myself into.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Big flap<\/li>\n<li>Respect for the boss ? &gt; No way<\/li>\n<li>Always a casual saying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time, I received a few complaints from our HR manager about his, to put it mildly, &#8220;rather brash demeanour&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, however, it stood out positively:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Personal initiative<\/li>\n<li>Pragmatism<\/li>\n<li>Motivation<\/li>\n<li>Team spirit<\/li>\n<li>Determination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I began to observe this young man further.<\/p>\n<p>I discovered traits and characteristics that reminded me of my own training and my own approach &#8211; even though I was certainly much more &#8220;reserved&#8221; than he was.<\/p>\n<p>His mixture of team-orientated colleague and Rambo, for whom nothing was fast enough, made him appear somewhat unpredictable.<\/p>\n<p>This appearance was deceptive!<\/p>\n<p>He wanted to make a career, I quickly realised, and I could and wanted to help him with that.<\/p>\n<p>I was allowed to be his mentor without being asked and accompany him as my mentee, which he only realised later.<\/p>\n<p>He seized this opportunity.
