Today I had the opportunity to chat with tournament organiser Peter Michael Reichel<\/a> and tournament director Sandra Reichel<\/a> about the international tennis scene<\/a> and also the question of how the Hamburg European Open<\/a> will continue.<\/p>\n

Awakened from its slumber<\/a> 5 years ago, the Reichels<\/a> have brought this formerly renowned tournament back onto the world stage<\/a> and revitalised it with great attention to detail. APA Brands Events Solutions<\/a> was our sponsor for this project.<\/p>\n

Today, this tournament is a highlight<\/a> in the international tournament calendar.<\/p>\n

WTA<\/a> players and ATP Tour<\/a> players enjoy the familiar, individual and yet professional care.<\/p>\n

With the help of the Alexander Otto Sport Foundation<\/a>, Sandra Reichel<\/a> managed to renovate the then dilapidated tournament stadium at Rothenbaum<\/a> for almost 10 million euros and restore it to its former glory.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, after this sensational development work, especially by Sandra Reichel<\/a>, the DTB<\/a> has decided to rely on a new event partner for the ATP tournament<\/a> in the coming years.<\/p>\n

Loyalty<\/a> and fair play<\/a> look different – but in the end, the supposedly big money was apparently the lure.
\nIt was also a missed opportunity, because a combined<\/a> tournament like this, for men<\/a> and women<\/a>, is a special highlight<\/a> on the international tournament calendar.<\/p>\n

That’s a pity – I personally think differently about long-term partnerships<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have been friends<\/a> with the Reichel family and their companies MatchMaker Sports GmbH<\/a> and RBG Reichel Business Group GmbH<\/a> for over 30 years.
\nI have had the honour of mentoring Sandra Reichel over the years.
\nIt fills me with pride to see how recognised Sandra Reichel<\/a> is on the world tennis stage today.<\/p>\n

Congratulations on this successful work and for the loyalty<\/a>, trust<\/a> and commitment<\/a> shown over 30 Jahre\u203c\ufe0f.

I think the remaining WTA<\/a> tournament at the Rothenbaum<\/a> will continue to bear Reichel’s professional signature in the coming years and the gentlemen will wish they could have remained part of this success story.<\/a><\/p>\n
