Yesterday, Sunday, the members of the Deutscher Tennis Bund e. V. gathered for the highly significant 75th General Assembly in the exclusive ambience of the Dorint Hotel an der Messe in Cologne. With over 1.5 million members, the DTB is Germany’s third-largest sports association.

The event was characterised by particular excitement, as new elections to the Executive Board were due as part of a major structural reform.

In addition to the traditional items on the agenda, the focus was also on honouring deserving officials who have rendered outstanding services to the promotion of tennis.

After President Dietloff von Arnim fell just short of the required simple majority in both the first and second ballots with 50 per cent, Robert Hampe withdrew his candidacy and the third ballot resulted in 107 votes in favour (89.9 per cent) for last year’s President von Arnim.

Every year, this meeting attracts high-ranking guests from the worlds of sport and politics, who emphasise the importance of this event. In order to create the right atmosphere, APA was once again able to provide the right setting this year.
