Last week, Stuttgart was once again the epicentre of women’s tennis as the world’s oldest tournament of its kind entered its 47th round. At this year’s edition of the top-class WTA 500 tournament, first-class players met in the impressive Porsche Arena to compete against each other.
With total prize money of USD 922,573 and a multifaceted supporting programme, the tournament has established itself as an unmissable highlight in the tennis calendar, attracting thousands of tennis fans from all over the world every year.
After thrilling matches in the previous days and a semi-final with three top 10 players on Saturday, the tournament reached its climax on Sunday.
Elena Rybakina dominated the final against Marta Kostyuk and took the title with a commanding 6:2, 6:2 victory. Cheered on by 4,200 enthusiastic spectators, she not only secured victory, but also a luxurious Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turismo as the main prize.
In addition to the thrilling matches, the event offered spectators the exclusive opportunity to meet their tennis idols up close at autograph sessions and gain fascinating insights into their preparations through public training sessions.
With APA’s brand Tennisblende.de we were also able to give the mini-court the necessary glamour. Not only did the children’s press conference take place here, but also games such as street racket or pickleball, where young tennis fans could compete on the court.
With our origins in tennis, we are proud to have equipped this prestigious tournament for on-site fans and broadcasts again this year.
