A year ago, RB Leipzig secured victory in the DFB Cup final in a thrilling match at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
Since then, the DFB Cup has been in the hands of the winning club.
Yesterday, just two weeks before this year’s final, the Cup Handover took place at the Rotes Rathaus in Berlin, where the trophy was returned. In the presence of representatives of both finalists, the trophy was presented to the DFB and the city of Berlin in a festive ceremony.
This event not only increases anticipation for the upcoming final, but also gives spectators and fans the opportunity to see the trophy up close until the big day.
The team of referees for the final, led by Bastian Dankert, was also announced during the event.
We were also able to create an exclusive atmosphere in the town hall for the participating guests and press representatives at this important accompanying event before the highlight of the cup season. We are counting down the days until 25 May and are curious to see whether Leverkusen can continue their winning streak or whether 1. FC Kaiserslautern will decide the match in their favour.
