On Saturday, the long-awaited final of the 81st Cup season finally took place in the tradition-steeped Olympic Stadium in Berlin, which has been the permanent venue for this important event in German football since 1985.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen and 1. FC Kaiserslautern faced each other in the final. Although Bayer Leverkusen were already considered the clear favourites in advance, their 51-game winning streak was interrupted by their defeat in the Europa League final on Wednesday. It was the first final appearance for 1 FC Kaiserslautern in 21 years!
In a thrilling match, the Werkself came out on top 1-0 despite being outnumbered to clinch the double and crown what was already the best season in the club’s history.

The final also marked the highlight of the past season for us as the DFB’s general outfitter. With a total of 64 games, exciting draws and numerous side events, we have all been working towards this special moment.

From project management to production, logistics and operations through to our technicians – every team member made a decisive contribution to the project.
We were on site with a 30-strong team and installed over 2,000 branding positions in just seven days.

Thanks to our specially developed project management tool PICS, we were able to maintain an overview at all times and thus set up the stadium perfectly for the more than 70,000 spectators in Berlin and the live broadcasts.

A big thank you goes to the entire APA team, who did an outstanding job both in the run-up to the event and on site.

We are already looking forward to the coming season!
