The Summer Olympics in Paris 2024 have opened and I had the great fortune of being able to attend with my daughter Clara Adelfang in the stands along the Seine, albeit admittedly a little damp Shortly beforehand, I was able to visit the German House, which had been prepared by APA Brands Events Solutions, and was impressed by the truly excellent work and reliable execution of our APA implementation team under the leadership of Leoni Aulmann and Jonas Heydt. They were joined by project supervisor and team leader Kim Gehrmann and our marketing team Vivien Kluge and Lucia Lahr, who with their 15-strong crew ensured that the German team, politicians, sponsors and officials were able to experience a fantastic backdrop at the Stade Jean Bouin over the next 17 days. I took the opportunity to personally congratulate the Chairman of the DOSB, Torsten Burmester, and DSM Managing Director, Claudia Wagner, on this successful German House. Thank you Birgit Gantner for the personal tour! The opening ceremony was a superlative. – Hundreds of millions on TV – 400,000 visitors at the opening ceremony – 120 heads of state/government – 94 boats – 6000m parade course – 10,500 athletes – 206 National Olympic Committees … and not forgetting LadyGaga with her impressive voice and performance and a grand finale by Célin Dion! It was a magnificent production and we are now looking forward to exciting and impressive Olympic Games in Paris. With the extraordinary ‘German House’, which we were able to create for Deutsche Sport Marketing and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), this production will be an excellent bid template for the 2036 or 2040 Olympics for Germany. For now, good luck to the athletes and, above all, many outstanding medal moments.
