The fifth stage of the Biathlon World Cup offered fans in Ruhpolding last week an exciting opportunity to see the best biathletes in action in the relay, sprint and pursuit disciplines.

The opening ceremony, which took place again after five years, was enthusiastically received by the fans. A varied program with an impressive laser show, a performance by a Gau youth group and the highlight of the march-in of the nations created a festive atmosphere.

The German athletes put in an impressive performance, taking third place with their relay team on the very first day. The men continued this run of success and took second place in the season one day later. This is already her fourth podium finish!

German athletes were in the top 6 in both the sprints and the pursuit! In addition, 18-year-old biathlete Julia Tannheimer in particular surprised everyone with a successful debut. It was her first time in the World Cup, but she still managed to amaze the spectators with an impressive 15th place!

The installation of the specially designed APA LED light strip, which had previously been installed in Oberhof, posed a logistical challenge, as only two days were available for the installation. Detailed planning in advance was crucial and six technicians were on site to ensure that the finish was properly staged for the fans on site and those watching on TV.

But there is no time to take a breather – the entire focus is now on the 6th World Cup in Antholz, which starts next Thursday.
