The sporting metropolis of Berlin has one more attraction as part of the UEFA EURO 2024.

Just in time, one day before the opening match between Germany and Scotland in the Allianz Arena in Munich, the “UEFA 2024 Nations Bear Park” was opened in Spreebogenpark in the presence of Berlin’s Senator for Home Affairs & Sport, Iris Spranger, and numerous ambassadors and dignitaries.

I had the great honour of being the godfather, because we at APA Brands Events Solutions were allowed to bring the 24, 200 kg heavy colossi, all branded with the respective national flags of the participating nations at the European Football Championship, into the “world”.

One of the bears danced out of line – the so-called EM mascot ALBÄRT, because he was of course
pressed in its unmistakable look.

Congratulations to the HostCityBerlin team with Roxana Pörschke, Sabine Trützschler and Paul Wedeleit for this great idea for this art project – it was a pleasure for us to be “midwives”.
Thanks to Clara Adelfang who organised this art project for us and successfully implemented it with our APA technical team.

Now we are looking forward to a strong opening game.
Good luck to our German boys!
